The Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery & Memorial
is located approx. 40 km. north west of Verdun - near the village of Romagne-sous-Montfaucon. The cemetery holds
14,246 American war graves
from World War I and is the largest American war cemetery in Europe.
Most of the soldiers buried here lost their lives during the
Meuse-Argonne Offensive of World War I.
